Overview
Mali me Gropa in Tirana is a well-known natural landmark located on the outskirts of the Albanian capital, Tirana. It is part of the Dajti Mountain range, situated to the east of the city, 1828 meter above the sea level. The name Mali me Gropa, which translates to “Mountain with Pits,” refers to a distinctive area on the mountain known for its numerous depressions or small pits scattered across its terrain. These formations, caused by natural processes like erosion and karstic activity, give the area a unique geological character.
From Mali me Gropa, visitors are treated to panoramic views of Tirana, the Dajti Mountain range, and the surrounding valleys. On clear days, the view extends far beyond the city, offering a peaceful escape into nature.
The hikes vary in difficulty, with some paths suitable for casual walks and others for more adventurous treks.
